You'll need to provide proof of your date of birth and identity in order to obtain a driving license. You will also have to pass the Regulations Test. There are a variety of conditions to be met before a driver can buy a A80 driving license. These include the completion of a driver's education course, obtaining written consent from a parent or legal guardian, and undergoing a medical exam and vision test. A certain amount of driving training is also possible.

Based on the law of the state, drivers between the ages of 15 and 16 years old must complete an entire six-month period of development with their learner permits before they can take the driver's test. During this period the driver has to be in the company of an adult who has a valid license. In some states, the adult must be a member of the family who is over 21.

The next step is passing the test to prove that you know about road signs regulations, driving rules and laws. The driver then has to pass a driving test. The test is conducted with an examiner from the DMV.

A limited provisional license allows learners to drive during daylight hours with a supervising driver older than 21. However, the driver is not able to transport passengers who are not immediate family members. In addition the driver is not allowed to drive between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. unless the trip is required to attend school or work. There are some exceptions to this policy like church events and volunteer fire department events.

After a year of driving without accidents and with the Limited Provisional License, a driver can apply for an Full Provisional License. The license does not impose any restrictions on time or passengers, but has other limitations. For instance, for the first six months of the license period a young motorist cannot drive in a vehicle that has more than one child passenger younger than 20.

After obtaining a full license to drive, a new driver can drive with up to five passengers in total. This includes three passengers that are not related to the driver. Additionally, the driver must wear a seat belt, and all children must be in approved child safety seats. The license is valid for either four or eight years, depending on whether the holder is 65 or not.

A charge is imposed for both the original and renewal transactions to cover the costs associated with technology upgrades and maintenance of the driver license and ID card systems. This cost is not included in the above pricing. A name and/or address change is free, however additional changes require a new application. A letter of certification on U.S. government stationary from your commanding officer, supervisor or spouse stating that you or your spouse is a contractor or civilian employee, or active duty military personnel, is required for a non-Virginia addresses exception. There is also a fee for obtaining a permit.
